From the first true leaf stage, the selective knives work close to the pumpkin plant. The soil is directed away from the row to prevent young seedlings from being buried.
Protecting young plants
During the first hoeing passes, angled shares support the process. They direct additional soil away from the row and protect the crop from being buried.
Further hoeing passes
Hoeing continues every 2 to 3 weeks. To cultivate beneath the pumpkin leaves, the angled shares are replaced with duckfoot shares.
Late growth stage
The selective modules can be folded up. Hoeing then takes place only between the rows using large duckfoot shares, while the automatic row guidance remains active.
