Weeding not only between but also within the rows increases the tilled area from 70% to 98% of the field surface when the pumpkin is ready.
ZURAMA‘s AI camera can accurately detect every plant, even if large weeds are similar in size and shape, partially cover the pumpkin or if the pumpkin grows slightly to the side at a later stage. The origin of each plant is always precisely detected.
The hydraulically controlled selective blades operate with great power and dynamism. This makes Feldklasse the fastest actuator on the market. Working speeds of up to 5 km/h (3 mph) are possible without compromising accuracy.
Since almost all weeds have been controlled, the need for further manual weeding has been eliminated. Weed control is even more effective than herbicides.
Application in plant protection
1. First hoeing (from the first leaf stage):
a. The selective blades work close to the pumpkin plant. The soil is always directed away from the row so that the young seedlings are not buried.
b. For the first hoeing passes, angle coulters are used in addition to the selective blades to divert the soil even further away from the row and thus protect the crop from being buried.
Further hoeing passes (every 2 to 3 weeks):
a. To enable hoeing even under the pumpkin leaves, the angle coulters are replaced with goosefoot coulters.
3. In the advanced stage:
a. The selective modules can be folded up, as only cultivation between the rows with large goosefoot blades is necessary in order not to damage the large-volume pumpkins. The automatic row guidance remains active!
