Our innovative ZURAMA selective hoe works both between and within the crop rows, removing weeds from almost the entire field or bed.
Thanks to its modular design, the hoe can be adapted to a wide range of requirements. By selecting different tool combinations, an in-row hoe can be configured specifically for crops grown from seed, such as sugar beet, or transplanted vegetables, such as cabbage.
Additional tool combinations are available to meet specific field conditions, including mulch systems.

AI-based plant recognition
The Zurama uses optical plant recognition developed in collaboration with the Czech tech start-up Ullmanna. Ullmanna specialises in the development of image recognition software.
The image-processing software is based on artificial intelligence (AI) and was trained in advance using images of sugar beet and other crops at different growth stages. This enables the system to distinguish crops from weeds in a similar way to humans, based on specific characteristics such as leaf shape, plant colour and the number of leaves. In sugar beet, this already works very precisely from the two-leaf stage onwards, even when the plants are surrounded by significantly larger weeds.
The system is programmed so that plant recognition can continuously adapt to current field conditions using the images captured during hoeing. For precise operation during both day and night, each camera is supported by four powerful LED lights.
