__ Feldklasse for carrots and onions

Significant cost savings: Hoeing in double and triple rows is possible

Less manual weeding in narrow double and triple rows

Carrots, parsnips and onions are often grown in double or triple rows with a row spacing of around 7 cm. This is exactly where Rukaby and Pacorel demonstrate their strengths.

Thanks to the rotary principle, both machines can hoe precisely from a row spacing of just 5 cm.
This makes mechanical weed control possible even in narrow rows.

In practice, this means: With a row spacing of around 7 cm, approximately 30 to 40% of manual weeding can be saved.

More cultivated area in double rows

In narrow double rows, every centimetre counts. With a Feldklasse hoeing machine, the uncultivated area is reduced to just 8 cm. With a conventional hoeing machine that only works outside the double row, this area is around 11 cm.

Feldklasse hoeing machine

4 cm + 4 cm = 8 cm

Less uncultivated area within the double row.

Conventional hoeing machine

8 cm + 3 cm = 11 cm

More uncultivated area, as hoeing only takes place outside the double row.

The result: Around 27% more cultivated area. Since weeds are controlled more reliably with rotating tools, the savings achieved in practice are around 30 to 40%.

Adaptation to different soil conditions

The Rukaby can be flexibly adjusted to suit different soil conditions.

This ensures clean and controlled hoeing close to the row, even in light soils, crusted soils or heavy soils.

Light soils

Weeds are cleanly pulled out and dry on the soil surface.

Compared with conventional hoeing shares, the risk of weeds taking root again can be reduced.

Loamy sand

With a crust thickness of 3–5 mm, the serrated disc is often sufficient to break the crust

and create a controlled breaking point along the row.

Heavy soils

Cutting discs are used in dry conditions.

In wet conditions, an interchangeable shaft without cutting discs helps to prevent blockages.

Sensitive crops

Protective tunnels provide additional protection against soil throw and enable gentler cultivation close to the crop.
